Day 1: Exploring Medellín

Kick off your adventure with a city tour of Medellín and dive into its vibrant culture and iconic landmarks. We’ll see Botero’s famous sculptures, the colorful streets of Comuna 13, the innovative cable car system, and a local fruit market where you can taste exotic flavors. We spend the night at a comfortable hotel in Laureles, a lively neighborhood full of local charm.

Day 2: Jardín – A Journey to Paradise & a Coffee Farm Visit

Off to coffee country! After roughly a 3-hour drive we arrive in Jardín, a charming village in the heart of Antioquia. Our lodging is nestled among coffee fields and bamboo forests, just 5 minutes from the village center. In the afternoon we visit a family-run coffee farm and learn how coffee is produced. In the evening, dinner and drinks on the main square while village life unfolds around us.

Day 3: Feeding Hummingbirds

In the morning we hop into a classic jeep and climb into the mountains to 2,300 meters above sea level, up to an orchid reserve where you can feed hummingbirds from your hand. After a short forest hike we descend to a waterfall and admire orchids blooming in their natural cloud-forest habitat. Lunch in the village, then an afternoon horseback ride to the La Escalera waterfall and the stunning Café Jardín viewpoint.

Day 4: Guatapé Adventure

We set off early on a scenic drive of about 5 hours to Guatapé, where we climb the famous Piedra del Peñol rock for a breathtaking panorama of the landscape. Then we take a private boat trip on the lake, stopping at Pablo Escobar’s former estate, Finca La Manuela. In the afternoon we wander the vibrant, colorful streets of Guatapé. Later we head through the valley toward San Rafael and settle into a cozy, family-run eco-lodge.

Day 5: San Rafael & Chocolate Making

We start the day at the Rendón family’s cacao farm with a special chocolate-making tour. We learn the story of the cacao plant, craft our own chocolate, then after a short forest walk take a dip in a natural pool, followed by a relaxing chocolate bath. In the afternoon, a hike to waterfalls hidden deep in the jungle. At the end of the day we return to Medellín, to José María Córdova International Airport (MDE) or downtown, depending on your onward plans.
